Costa Rica’s north zone has several protected areas, such as lakes, lagoons, volcanoes, rivers and waterfalls. There is a rainy and always green region in the Caribbean and a slightly dryer one in the Pacific, with beautiful beaches and astonishing sunsets.
At the north of the province of Limón, there is Tortuguero National Park where the Green Turtles go to lay their eggs. There you will enjoy smooth boat rides through unspoiled low land rain forests crowded with wild life and can kayak into seldom explored canals for close encounters with incredible animals. Horseback riding surrounded by trees in Sarapiquí will put you in contact with wonderful natural beauty.
Watch magic happening in the turquoise waters of Río Celeste at Tenorio Volcano and relax in the healing natural hot springs from the Arenal volcano. The North Pacific is the oldest territory in Costa Rica, the dry tropical forest, the beaches and the popular culture have made the region an obligated place to visit. Enjoy the beauty of the sea your way…
